I’m sick of all my days feeling like a roller-coaster 

It’s driving me insane

My head is wrapped up with stress and regret

For things I don’t quite get yet

So would you slow it down

I’m sorry but I’m asking you to just spell it out

Let me first start off by saying how hard it’s been to get this out

We’ve been reckless (living like they’ve asked us)

We just plug in and tune the rest out

I’ve got dreams that are bursting from the seams

But sometimes forget them amidst the guise of marketing

(Call the masses and ask them if they’re happy)

Refunds and reruns blur our hopes out

This is my hope for the hopeless

That you will dream with unbreakable force

We are the ones who’re always forgotten

I’ve got this feeling in my head and I swear it started in my lungs

I’m sure you’ve heard it all before but its nice to meet someone who wont run

I know I’m still rough around the edges, I’m polished but not perfected

As I stand in this fire, let it fuel my desires, and burn my impurities

I woke up this morning with the sun in my eyes

The sky was spotless I grabbed my keys; it’s time for a drive

My minds been heavy and the time feels right for a mid-week holiday

This road is lonely and it’s meant for two

I’m gonna swing by just to see what you’re up to

You said you had to head to work real soon

So I thought of an excuse for you to use

I could tell you were worried but I looked dead in your eyes and I smiled 

Sometimes chances need to be taken

We are young and proof our generation’s alive
